"Do You Ever Wonder" is about allowing yourself to think freely and clearly about what you should do with your life. Don’t let the arbitrary status quo of society influence what you think you should be doing, try to break that down and figure out who/what you really are, or should be. Chorus’ go into the fears that build up as time slips past you faster and faster as you age. It can be hard to tell when living passively in the moment - don’t be lazy, don’t waste time, just do it.
lyrics
It’s okay to do as you feel
Did you ever wonder how we came to be?
It’s okay if others don’t see
Do you ever wonder what we’re made to be?
Soon our lives will go on by but
Everyday’s a chance to find a better way
Running through our own dreams
Looking for some meaning
But getting weak
So much more I wanna know
But wasting all my time I throw my years away
Feel I’m moving slowly
Need to set my mind free
And live today
Always on my mind
It’s okay
To wander, be free
Did you ever wonder how we came to be?
It’s okay if they don’t agree
Do you ever wonder what we’re made to be?
Soon our lives will go on by but
Everyday’s a chance to find a better way
(Running out of time)
Running through our own dreams
Looking for some meaning
But getting weak
(Running out of time)
So much more I wanna know
But wasting all my time I throw my years away
(Running out of time)
Feel I’m moving slowly
Need to set my mind free
And live today

Shoegaze ist die Kunst des Dröhnens, doch „Everything Is Alive“ setzt diese Elemente nur sparsam ein. Statt Hall- und Zerr-Sounds aufzutürmen, schäumt die Musik in feinen Bläschen über.

the rain has been falling ever more slowly this morning, apparently transitioning to snow. or perhaps the sky is as reluctant to ever again touch the ground as i am right now while listening to this album. i've been a fan since life of leisure but this is the best one yet! Scott
